We all have a desire to look for more, to understand how we make sense of the world, where we are, where we were. This describes my life as an artist. I want to meld my life experiences with my inventions until in my oil paintings these concepts become the same thing. My painting is the reality.
As with all of us, I am changing. My paintings are becoming more personal. I am embracing a Tonalist technique; a style of painting full of soft edges, mood and emotion. My new landscapes express sadness, loss, concern, worry. Maybe a few will see the light.
